HAO JIANG TIAN

Hao Jiang Tian, a native of Beijing, celebrating his 20th anniversary singing at the Metropolitan Opera, has earned worldwide recognition as one of today's most talented basso cantantes, and has sung over 1400 performances of 50 operatic roles worldwide.  He is the founder and artistic director of iSING! International Young Artists Festival.

Hao Jiang Tian, internationally renowned bass born in Beijing has sung over 1400 performances of 50 operatic roles worldwide. The only Chinese singer who has appeared at the Metropolitan Opera for 20 years in 26 operas, Tian has been highly praised for his appearances as major bass in opera houses worldwide such as the Staatsoper Berlin, Teatro Comunale in Florence, Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, Arena di Verona, Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, San Francisco Opera, Chicago Lyric Opera, Canadian Opera Company, Washington National Opera, and opera houses in France, Belgium, Spain, Holland, Portugal, Chile, Russia, Japan, and all the major opera houses in China. Highlights of his recent engagements include Gremin in EUGENE ONEGIN at the White Nights Festival at Mariinski Theatre, conducted by Valery Gergiev; Liu Siye in RICKSHAW BOY in Genoa, Florence, and Turin with the tour of Beijing’s National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) and Banquo in MACBETH and Fiesco in SIMON BOCCANEGRA, both with Plácido Domingo in the title role at NCPA. His recent seasons also include singing opera THE DIARY OF JOHN RABE at Berlin Staatsoper, Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie and Vienna; the title role of VOYAGE TO THE EAST at Lincoln Center, MARCO POLO in Genova, Italy. Last season, he sang Vodnik in RUSALKA at Pittsburgh Opera and gave solo recitals in Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, New Jersey, Beijing and Nanjing.

 

 His autobiography, Along the Roaring River: My Wild Ride from Mao to the Met, was published by Wiley and Sons as a Lincoln Center Book. His book Turandot at the Arena, in Chinese, was published by San Lian Publishing Company.  Tian is the founder and artistic director of iSING! International Young Artists Festival which had its American premiere performance of Echoes of Ancient Tang Poems with the Philadelphia Orchestra at Lincoln Center in January, 2023. As producer and artistic director, he just triumphantly completed his first production of  Chengdu SKP iSING! Opera Gala, a show that merged high fashion with grand opera. His honors include Lifetime Achievement Award from Denver University (2014), Ellis Island Medals of Honor (2015), Carnegie Mellon Award (2011), the Bravo Award for Best Male Vocalist in Russia (2019) and Honorary Doctorate from Manhattan School of Music (2021). 

田浩江是首位与美国大都会歌剧院连续签约长达20 年的中国歌唱家,并与世界各地三十多个重要歌剧院合作,演出超过1400 场次,饰演过50 多个歌剧角色, 是在东西方歌剧界享有国际声誉的中国歌剧表演艺术家。

田浩江在四十年的歌剧演唱生涯中,合作过的歌剧院包括:柏林国家歌剧院、德国科隆歌剧院、法国里昂歌剧院、意大利佛罗伦萨歌剧院、维罗纳歌剧院、那波里圣卡洛歌剧院、热那亚歌剧院、西班牙彼尔堡歌剧院、葡萄牙圣卡洛歌剧院、阿根廷科隆大剧院、智利国家歌剧院、美国芝加哥歌剧院、华盛顿歌剧院、旧金山歌剧院、加拿大多伦多歌剧院, 以及在荷兰、比利时、以色列、日本、新加坡等地歌剧院, 田浩江还长期与北京国家大剧院和中国主要的剧院以及交响乐团合作演出,这些演出实况大都在中国、美欧、亚洲的主要电视台和电台转播。

 田浩江生于北京,1983 年赴美学习, 1987 年获丹佛大学声乐表演硕士学位, 2008 年获葛莱美奖提名, 2014 年获丹佛大学颁发的终身成就奖。田浩江于2019年3月在俄国《BraVo》艺术大奖颁发评选中获得“最佳歌剧男声”奖。并于2021年获美国曼哈顿音乐学院声乐艺术荣誉博士学位

 

​田浩江近年的演出日程包括;在柏林德意志国家歌剧院演出原创歌剧《拉贝日记》,在意大利热那亚歌剧院演出歌剧《马可波罗》,在纽约林肯中心演出现代历史歌剧《鉴真东渡》。田浩江在北京国家大剧院与大师多明戈演出的歌剧《麦克白》和《西蒙博卡涅拉》,已制作成高清DVD 发行。他还在俄国圣彼得堡受邀指挥大师捷杰耶夫参演了歌剧《尤金奥涅金》。最近的演出还包括在匹兹堡歌剧院参与主演歌剧《水仙女》和在洛杉矶、纽约、费成等地的个人演唱会。《纽约时报》在报导田浩江的专题文章中写到: “他 成功的原因在于他的经历,而他的经历本身就是歌剧”。由美国Wiley 出版社出版的田浩江英文自传《歌剧人生》, 作为美国纽约林肯表演艺术中心的书籍系列正式发行,并被西方600 多个图书馆收为藏书。田浩江是具有国际声誉的iSING! 国际青年歌唱家艺术节的创办人兼艺术总监,他在美国亚裔表演艺术中心还长期担任项目策划和制作人。田浩江写作的中文散文集《角斗场的图兰朵》由三联书店和活字文化出版,多明戈、昆西·琼斯、北岛和余华写了推荐语,已连续四次加印发行。

 

田浩江歌剧生涯曾被英国BBC、美国国家广播电台、中央电视台、中央广播电台、北京电视台、东方卫视、江苏卫视、美国NBC等制作专题节目播出。2023年1月,他作为总导演参与了制作“iSING!《唐诗的回响》与费城交响乐团”的美国首演。同年10月,作为艺术总监,与国际著名歌剧导演Hugo De Ana一起策划制作了《成都SKP- iSING!Opera Gala》的演出,是国际高级时尚品牌和经典歌剧作品在国际范围的首次合作。2023年11月,田浩江参与策划和导演美国费城交响乐团和iSING!艺术节七位各国歌唱家在北京国家大剧院再次合作演出。
