The iSING! Festival will be commissioning young composers from around the world to compose original works set to Tang Dynasty poems. This will be the first time in the world that a concert of original compositions set to classical Chinese poetry is commissioned and produced. The world premiere tour of the commissioned works will take place in Suzhou Culture and Arts Center, August 21, 2020, and Jiangsu Grand Theatre, August 23, 2020, with a full orchestra.
iSING! Composition Competition
In this retrospective performance, Hao Jiang Tian will sing and talk about his life as a first-generation Chinese-American opera singer, from his exhilarating arrival in 1983 at John F. Kennedy Airport from Beijing, through a two-decade career at the Metropolitan Opera that represented the fulfillment of a dream.
