Chinese New Year Celebration Program with
JiangSu Cable Television   Dec 4,5,6

Hao Jiang Tian performed with iSING! at the annual Lunar New Year TV  program.

In Search of Past Time    Dec 14-17

For five decades, two men had lived worlds apart: one grew up in red-hot China under Mao and ended up a shining opera singer in New York; the other was born in white-hot Taiwan under Chang Kai-shek and became a top brass in the Asian TV industry. At first all they shared was a catchy Chinese pop tune, then they discovered they both grew up in a military compound, one of victors and the other of the exiled, and that they both had a brother separated by life and lost to death, that their first loves never quite disappeared... that they dared dream and now they still dared remember.  A theatre production in Taipei starring Hao Jiang Tian and Wang Wei Chong.

From Mao to the Met    Nov 3

A one-man show features Metropolitan Opera basso Hao Jiang Tian weaving song and story into a compelling tale of growing up in China under Chairman Mao.  Performing songs of the Cultural Revolution, American standards such as "Some Enchanted Evening", Irish song "Danny Boy" and operatic arias from his favorite roles, Tian tells the story of the music-and the woman- that changed his life. Accompanying himself on accordion, guitar and piano, joined by the voice of his singing parrot, Tian reveals the spirit, and deep resonant voice, that carried him from Mao to the Met.  This show will be presented by the Manhattan School of Music at the Miller Recital Hall on November 3 at 7:30pm.
